The beati colli
of Caiazzo
Masseria Piccirillo is located in Alta Campania, in the province of Caserta, specifically in Santi Giovanni e Paolo, a small hamlet in the municipality of Caiazzo.
The vineyards are cultivated on sinuous hills that for the family represent the “Beati Colli”, caressed by the Volturno river and nestled between Mount Taburno to the east, the Matese mountains to the north, the Roccamonfina volcano to the north-west and Partenio to the south-east. These characteristics influence winds, temperatures, rainfall, humidity, pressure and exposure, creating the ideal conditions for growing the indigenous Pallagrello Bianco, Pallagrello Nero and Casavecchia grapes.
Masseria Piccirillo was born on vertisuoli: these are strong, tenacious soils that require care in working. Management efforts are rewarded by the high nutrient exchange capacity, which results in excellent fertility in these soils, favouring high quality production.
